This was my gig of the year so far. John Lydon reigning in his clownish tendencies to give a consummate performance of controlled passion. At the end he said “We do this because we love it”, and it showed.
The sound was very good, the band were superb, and the bass was as bass-tastic as I’ve ever heard. During “Religion” it was cranked up to 11 - I thought my fillings were going to fall out.
A two hour 15 minute set that never dragged and embraced stuff from virtually all the albums and culminated with a version of “Open Up”.
